OUTCOMES OF MEDICAL EDUCATIONAL ACTION «STOP DIABETES» AT MINSK INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISE
Objеctivе. To determine the ten-year type 2 diaBetes (T2DM) risk with FlNDRlSK questionnare.
Matеrials and mеthods. We included 566 workers (310 men and 256 women) in the study who were proposed to write in FlNDRlSK questionnaire. We measured anthropometric data (height, weight, waist circumference (WC), Body mass index (BMl), the Blood glucose was measured By a rapid test method. Patients with history of diaBetes mellitus type 2 were excluded. The results are presented as М±(J, differences were statistically significant at p<0.05.
Rеsults. Participants were 44.26±12.62 years old with 25.09±3.16 kg/m2 BMl and 5.02±0.42 mmol/l Blood glucose. Of them, 46.9% of participants were at a low risk for T2DM the risk for the men (63.7%) Being twice as much as for the women (35.2%) (p<0.05). 34.1% of participants were at a slightly increased risk for T2DM with the same frequency among the men (50.3%) and the women (49.7%). A moderate risk was registered in 11.2% of participants in the group of women (64.6%) Being twice as much as in the group of men (35.4%). A high risk was identified in 6.2% of the patients Being a little higher among the women (55.6%) than among the men (44.4%).
Conclusion. ln general, 50% of participants were at an increased risk for T2DM development and was associated with the gender, BMl, WC, and the Blood glucose level. A low risk for the disease development was characteristic for men and an average one - for women. Hyperglycemia was identified in 7.6% of the action participants most often among the persons at a high risk for T2DM development determined By the FlNDRlSC scale. A relatively high risk of T2DM development among the participants confirmed applicaBility of prevention measures in that population group.
