Omega-3 polyunsaturated acids

The article reviews the omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid characteristics, the contents in fish and seafood, the consumption norms for healthy people, the preventive and medical effects in relation to cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, neuropsychic, inflammatory diseases, some types of cancer, the recommendations for use in case of certain diseases, including the guidelines contained in consensus papers.
